WOHA Futures: Design-Led Visioning

WOHA Futures is a consultancy that provides design-led visioning to private and public sector built-environment organisations at the scale of regions to neighbourhoods.

Regenerative, beautiful, desirable, humane and productive visions of the future are necessary for organisations to build consensus, invest resources, develop plans and attract investment and talent.

A design-led vision tells us where we need to go. Once we can agree on our destination, we are able to take efficient steps towards it.

Mandai Gateway (2014)

WOHA Futures typically sets these visions two or three decades in the future: far enough to avoid stress-induced resistance, soon enough to impact today’s decisions.

Building on WOHA’s 3 decades of research, teaching, and collaborations with innovative academics and specialists, WOHA Futures provides the missing link to organisations desiring to become leaders in regenerative urbanism.

Self Sufficient City (2014)

Based on WOHA’s original concepts of Prototypology, Form Follows Systems and 4D Masterplanning, WOHA Futures’ visions combine real-world knowledge and built prototypes with advanced conceptual thinking and beautiful designs.

Led by Professors Wong Mun Summ and Richard Hassell, and involving a creative team of internal and external specialists and academics, the domains of knowledge embedded in the visions range across Climate, Urbanism, Architecture, Interiors, Landscape, Ecology, Energy, Carbon, Comfort, Transit, Technology and Community.

WOHA Futures’ team have wide experience on major private and public sector projects together with extensive service on public agency boards and councils.

WOHA Futures’ visions are embedded in a clear understanding of the complex web - of stakeholders, policies, technologies and economics - which shapes how urban environments evolve.

WOHA Futures works with a network of passionate professionals, assembling customised teams for each project.

Self Sufficient City (2014)

Rather than narrowly defining a project, WOHA Futures seeks integrated designs and whole-of-system solutions.

Imagining a regenerative future requires expanding the investigative field as broad, deep and wide as possible, looking for synergies, dismantling roadblocks and integrating silos.

WOHA has created future visions for:
